Apps that work on Huawei phones are available on the Huawei App Gallery. In other words, the apps on Huawei phones would be downloaded and installed through the Huawei App Gallery.

As of writing this in November 2024, the Garmin Connect app is not available for the Huawei app Gallery.

This would explain a lot of issues experienced by folks in getting the Garmin Connect app for Android phones to work with a Huawei phone.

By design and implementation, the Garmin Connect app for Android smartphones is not compatible with the Huawei smartphones.

So, you may successfully download and install the Garmin Connect app for Android mobile operating system on a Huawei smartphone.

But, eventually, you would run into multiple issues. This pairing may eventually not happen at all or cause innumerable issues.

Some issues reported by users in getting the Garmin smartwatches to work with Huawei phones are enumerated below:

  • The paired connection between Garmin and Huawei may not get established

  • If the pairing completes between Garmin and Huawei, there are chances that some phone notifications may not work on the Garmin smartwatches. For example, you may not receive phone notifications or call notifications on the Garmin watch.

  • You may get a ‘No Phone Connection’ on the Garmin smartwatch if you have a Huawei smartphone.

Conclusion

Garmin and Huawei cannot co-exist because the Garmin Connect app is not available for the Huawei app store. So, it would be wise to conserve your efforts in getting the two devices to talk to each other. The two devices are not designed to understand each other.
